In June 2024 TEAM BONAIRE U10 selection went to Panama to participate in the Caribbean Zone Tournament (Pre-mundial 2024 Latino Americano – Pony League).
A tournament where major countries such as Panama, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Bahamas and Ecuador participated.
The other two ABC islands, Aruba and Curacao also participated.
Our selection team unfortunately lost in their first match against Venezuela (who incidentally became tournament champions) by a score of 17 to 2.
After the Bonaire team could aclimatize a bit they won with a “knock out” Costa Rica 15 to 5.
Then it was the turn of the Panama selection, where the Team Bonaire selection defeated the Panama Team with a score of 6 to 3.
The Bonaire Team put up a good performance, but unfortunately it was not enough to advance to the next round.
In the end, they played three games of which two won and one lost.
We are very proud of their performance as we continue to motivate the organizations so that our children on Bonaire can continue to train and play as much as possible.
Thanks to these kids for still being ambassadors in Panama to promote our island and of course also to all the coaches who spend a lot of free time training the kids.
