Softball Slowpitch, also called Modified Pitch on Bonaire, has always been and will always exist within us. It is very popular sport on Bonaire.

At the moment we have 5 women’s teams and no less than 16 men’s teams including 40+,50+ and even 60+ teams. It’s more than just sports. It has become a part of our existence within our society. As a federation in formation, it is a pleasure to see how large this target group is and one of our goals is to continue to stimulate and motivate them, but also to support their ideas and initiatives, especially when it comes to expanding their organizations by setting up youth teams.

It is also important that a large number of groups get movement through this target group. The good news is that it just keeps growing.

The organizations organize various tournaments, in which softball games are regularly played. They are also very active internationally. For example, the senior selection teams of Bonaire 35+ women have been participating in the Caribbean Women 35+ Softball Tournament for 10 years. In recent years, a team from the Netherlands has also participated. Men’s teams also participate every year, for example in the ABCS cups that are held annually or on Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba and or St. Maarten is organized.

It is on a recreational level but is taken quite seriously when it comes to organizing these local or international tournaments.

Transforming into competitions to bring regularity to training and competitions is one of our goals.
