In September and November, we are launching a pilot youth softball league for girls. This initiative is a collaboration between FBSB and its partners, on which we have been working diligently for two years. The goal? To revitalize and structurally grow youth softball for girls on Bonaire.

To best prepare the teams, several activities have already been organized that got them moving again, literally and figuratively:

• In cooperation with Indebon, we started organizing the “Girls Softball Fastpitch Bash” in 2023. This year already the third edition took place.
• We offered several clinics, with both local and international coaches.
• A successful Open Day was organized.
• Thanks to support from KNBSB and the Ministry of VWS, we were able to distribute training materials this year so that the girls could start with fun and proper equipment.

Now it is time for the next step: a first youth competition. This one will act as a pilot, but one thing is for sure – you have to start somewhere. And we do so with pride and enthusiasm!

• Girls ages 9 to 14: Sept. 19, 20 and 21 – Jossy Boekhoudt Ballpark
• Girls ages 13 to 17: Nov. 28, 29 and 30 – Dudy Josephia Ballpark

a. Team name
b. Player list (name + date of birth) – this may be changed later. We will communicate the final deadline soon.
c. The age group in which the team is competing (9-14 years old or 13-17 years old)
