Slowpitch softball, also called Modified Pitching on Bonaire, has always been and will always exist within us. It is a very popular sport on Bonaire.

At the moment we have 5 women’s teams and no less than 16 men’s teams, including 40+,50+ and even 60+ teams. It’s more than just sports. It has become part of our existence within our society. As a federation in formation, it is a pleasure to see how large this target group is and one of our objectives is to continue to stimulate and motivate them, but also to support their ideas and initiatives, especially when it comes to expanding their organizations by creating youth teams.

It is also important that a large number of groups move through this target group. The good news is that it continues to grow.

The organizations organize various tournaments, in which softball games are played on a regular basis. They are also very active internationally. For example, the Bonaire 35+ women’s senior selection teams have been participating in the Caribbean 35+ Women’s Softball Tournament for 10 years. In recent years, a team from the Netherlands has also participated. The men’s teams also participate every year, for example, in the ABCS cups held annually or in Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba and/or St. Maarten. St. Maarten is organized.

It is at a recreational level but is taken quite seriously when it comes to organizing these local or international tournaments.

Transforming ourselves into competitions to give regularity to training and competitions is one of our objectives.
