What started as an “Inspiration Week” on Sept. 30, 2021, became a reality today, Oct. 3, 2023.

A historic day where together with the Project Leader Chynesca Cornelia, Ministry of VWS/ZJCN and KNBSB may Bonaire provided FBSB (Federashon di Beisbòl i Sòftbòl Boneriano).
Today, Oct. 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. FBSB was officially born when the founding board filed the Articles of Incorporation with Mr. K. Mr. Notary Robin A. Rispens signed. The founding board consists of, a president, Mrs. Marionela Josephia, secretary and vice president Mr. Clinton Kirindongo, treasurer Mr. Carol Winklar and director of the union Mrs. Chynesca Cornelia. With this official act, FBSB can follow up to work together with the organizations, achieve goals to make baseball and softball on Bonaire sustainable.
One of the partners in this process is KNBSB (Mr. Roy Vink) who has given them guidance, support and advice throughout the process and is also very happy with achieving this important milestone. “Baseball and softball lives on Bonaire and the establishment of the FBSB is a start to provide even more structure and support for initiatives and involved organizations in the future. We are proud that this milestone has been achieved.” These are words of Mr. Stefaan Eskes, director of the KNBSB.
Another partner who has carried this project is the Ministry of VWS/ZJCN. According to Nick Veenbrink of VWS: “The establishment of the FBSB is an important step in strengthening the baseball and softball community on Bonaire. The FBSB enables even better cooperation between all organizations, so that baseball and softball will grow on Bonaire.”
We must dwell on the fact that there has been growth and development within baseball and softball since the beginning. Especially when it comes to the softball and baseball fields that may see renovation and renewal. Several trainings have been offered and provided to also train our coaches, umpires, etc. We are continuing with scorer training, so we are not done yet.
The director along with the founding board would like to thank all the agencies and/or organizations, which work together with FBSB. Ministry of VWS/ZJCN, KNBSB, INDEBON and especially the organizations that believe in us, to together, make baseball and softball sustainable on Bonaire. Thanks again.
